Micromax has recently launched a new data card Micromax MMX353G which is the higher version of Micromax MMX352G.After the successful operation of MMX352 finally this device is in market. It allows you to surf the net by inserting any normal sim card in the device. Though it is designed to surf the net using 3G services but it also supports 2G very well. This device when used with 2G SIM Cards gives very good internet speed. If you compare it with other devices like mobile phones which are 2G enabled or any other device like photon whiz or reliance net connect, user will experience a very fare downloading speed.
This device can be used for voice calling also when you are connected through your laptop or computer.
According to me its a smart choice because if you go for any other data card or services like netconnect or any other provider, you pay around 8 times for your limited usage per month. But if you are using Micromax MMX 353G, you can have a speed nearly equal to the internet speed provided by these data cards.
Here is one more thing to keep in mind that do not get confused by its 3G terminology because it works fine with 2G SIMs also. No matter which SIM you are using. It could be Airtel,Aircel,Reliance,Alcatel or anything but the device is same which is Micromax MMX 353G. But keep in mind- 3G has no comparison with 2G. So if you want 3G speed you will have to use 3G enabled SIM with the device.
Few setting user have to do before using the device with 2G/3G SIM.
- Insert SIM in the device and then insert the device into USB. Automatically it will prompt for software installation.
- Install the drivers and restart.
- After restart click on the MMX353G icon to open the connection manager.
- Click on Settings >> Network Mode >> Select Edge/GPRS Only
- Click on Network Selection >> Click Manual >> It will open a pop up window to select your network >> Select the current which is your inserted sim
- Last step is to create connection profile: For this step go to settings >> Connection profile >> ADD >> Choose from predefined list >> Chose your sim and set it as default

I am personally using this card. Its OK. But you can not get a speed like broadband or a data card with 3g speed. Obviously if you are paying less, you’ll get less speed. But overall its good for general purpose daily works.Not for downloading etc..
USE micromax 353g with aircel to get good internet speed
use MICROMAX 353G with AIRCEL sim cards.you can get good internet speed. recharge with aircel 128 to get 500mb 3g at 3.6mbphs and unlimited 2g at 128khphs.recharge with aircel 198 to get 1gb 3g at 3.6mbphs and unlimited 2g at 128 kbphs. its best idea to choose micromax 353g

Recently I am facing a problem with this modem i.e. even though I have recharged 3G speed’s pack and got confirmation of same from operator through a sms but I am getting 2G speed only. Kindly let me know what could be the reason behind this? Is there is anything with settings ?

You must have selected the wrong settings in the profile. Try selecting the correct mode like Edge GPRS only.

I have bought Micromax mmx353g usb modem.. it has worked fine in windows7 but i have changed the OS in my system to WINDOWS XP SERVICE PACK 2, now i am not able to use the device because it is showing the error called NO DEVICE… eventhough i hav installed the driver software correctly… it is of no use in WINDOWS XP SP2… Can plz any one solve this problem??????
I think you need to select the correct com port from Device Manager:
Control Panel—> Device Manager
sir, i m using micromax 353g with aircel simcard. When i connect it to internet it gets connected and shows the icon of connection established in windows 7. But when i open any web page after sometime of loading the webpage, error msg comes. When i try to start 3g in my sim a msg comes tht 3g service is not available in ur circle. Plz tell wht i can do.
Have you recharged for 3G data on aircel ? What error message you get when you try to connect to the internet ?
Will it also works on windows 8?
Micromax data card 2g sim use very very slow.
i am using micromax MMX353G 3G data card..i insert aircel sim card its shows no services even though i change another aircel sim card problem persist..but its really working well in airtel sim card..plz help me out its really frustrating me…

My 353G is not like the one shown above on fig. only “micromax” is written on top.. my edge signal is full.. but there is only less speed. tried to fetch 3g signal,, but village area…
(353G claims high 2g speed) i use idea & bsnl.
